I have to say I really like it. Of course, I usually like Kid's stuff. Even the bad songs usually have at least a riff or two that get my attention, and sound really cool.
What impressed me the most is the song "All Summer Long." In what is not an unusual technique for his work, he takes an "old" song, a la Prince, and works its melody into something of his own. What's unique about this one though is that he has perfectly overlaid "Werewolves of London" and "Sweet Home Alabama" onto each other, and it sounds incredibly good!
I never would have imagined those two songs being so similar, but they really are. I'm curious as to how the Kid made this discovery. I can picture him in his living room, or sound studio, or even the local tavern, listening to music, really stoned, and hearing one or the other of those songs, when it hits him!
Wham!!
That had to be a real epiphany for him, kinda like the first time I actually understood the wiring integration between a three-way and a four-way light switch.
Or something....
