We Have a New Champion

After a long season with many ups and downs, we have a new champion, although the end result hasn't been in doubt since, like, October.

Yes, Scott is our new champion. Although he came up short in his quest to be number one in the world, I want to celebrate what is, as opposed to what might have been. Scott's run through this season was dominating and unwavering, and all anyone could hope for was second place. Congratulations, Scott. What an amazing job.

FINAL STANDINGS
1. Scott
2. Dave
3. Jen (via tiebreaker)
4. Gram
5. Matt (via tiebreaker)
6. Steph
7. Bill
8. John (via tiebreaker)
9. Ryan
10. Nancy and Janie
11. Heather
12. Holly

However, I can't help but draw a few parallels. A dominant season, but one marred by controversy. Rumors and accusations of using illegal tactics to help someone gain an unfair advantage swirl around like dirt swirls around Pig Pen.

Yeah, I'm saying it. Grammie is the New England Patriots, and by extension, I guess Scott is Bill Belichick.

Of course I'm kidding- I just want to see if Scott's head will explode once he reads this.

Speaking of the Patriots: they suck. The end. In a related matter, Holly came in last place. Go claim your prize from the "freezer". And try not to die. It would suck if you did, but that's the risk you run when you come in last.

Way to go, Giants. And way to go, David Tyree. He's a Syracuse guy, which makes me very happy and proud (as a Cuse fan, I'll take whatever I can get). The only thing marring the Giants victory was the absence of a running back of extreme importance. A man at the forefront of their success these past few years. A man of overwhelming intellect and aptitude. A man who could fit in on the morning shows as well as in the locker room. A man named Jim Finn. I miss you, big guy.

Who did you think I was talking about?

So there you have it. Al that's left to do is wait for next year, with only the combines, the draft, free agency signings, Pac Man Jones' next arrest, the Bengals' next arrest, Ray Lewis' next murder, Tom Brady's next baby, Spygate, another Pac Man arrest, training camp, Bill Parcells going up another pant size, Tony Romo's next bimbo, the elimination of the Dophins from playoff contention, and the nourishment of Patriot tears to hold us over until the season begins anew.

See you in August.

Bravo!!!!

Oh, and, IT'S ABOUT FREAKING TIME!!!!!!!!!

Seriously, though - nice writeup, Matt. Loved the "Grammie is New England" comment, too. That was classic.

Watch out next year, bastidges!!!

Excellent job Savior on the final wrap up and on the blog all season.

I like Jim Finn as well but I'm liking Madison Hedgecock somewhat better currently.

I must say that my rank in the pool was better than I thought I would have achieved seeing as how the pukes and the deadskins both made the playoffs. Most importantly though, I escaped the freezer prize.

Congrats to Uncle Scott. It was a great season and one that I'll be thinking about all off season.

Next season though... Giants at Steelers!!

That will be a fun weekend.

What a blog to end the season on...high-lar-ious. Definitely worth the wait.

I just hope next year we get more participation from the rest of the lurkers in the League.

Congrats Uncle Scott for winning and Bill for winning the big game.
