Before we get to the Week 2 picks, let's take a look at the standings after one week:
1(T). Jen (PeytonPower)- Our defending champion comes out strong, gaining 12 out of a possible 15 points. However, she made the "cardinal" mistake of picking Arizona. The Cardinals will always break your heart.
1(T). Steph (Mrs. Mehlem)- First off, we get it- you're married now. You were married before last season. Get a new name. Now then, Steph kept up well with her little sister, and didn't make any stupid picks. Which is boring.
1(T). Scott (bensbuddy)- Nice to see a man up at the top as well, although Scott may have the girliest team name in the league. I get the mental image of Scott's composition notebook with Big Ben stickers all over it and "Scott Roethlisberger" written in cursive on the inside. I kid, Scott. Nice first week.
4(T). Ryan (Blitz Master)- I like the name, and the picks weren't bad either, with 11 out of 15 correct. Apparently, Ryan learned everything he knows from his dad, but his dad didn't give away all the secrets. Very smart.
4(T). Matt (Struggaling)- I guess I didn't struggle all that much last week, even though the Jets did. That being said, it's easy to look bad when the Patriot Act is being used against you. I would have suspended Belichick for 4 games, but whatever.
4(T). Grammie Peg (tobysgirl)- With perhaps my favorite team name in the group, Grammie Peg came out surprisingly strong in Week 1. Let's see if she can keep it up for Week 2.
4(T). Dave (5Chicks&Me)- With the most unintentionally dirty-sounding name in the pool, former champion Dave had himself a nice Week 1. As did his Steelers, but they didn't play a real NFL team last week. Sorry, Holly.
8. John (UncleJohn)- First off, he's lucky we don't take points off for unoriginality. However, we do take points off for picking Kansas City. Ever. 10 points for John this week, only 2 behind the leaders.
9. Nancy & Janie (samsonsgirls)- I don't understand the team name, so feel free to post and let me know, so I can praise/mock accordingly. They took some chances by picking TB over Seattle and the Giants over Dallas, and they didn't pay off. 8 points for Week 1.
10(T). Holly (thefavoriteone)- So much bravado with her team name, so few points in the standings. We almost shouldn't count picking the Browns against her, but that's her fault for liking them. Free Brady. With 7 points, there's still a lot of time to catch up.
10(T). Bill (Laddergolfer)- Oh, Billy. Like the team name, hate the picks. First off, let's re-explain Bill's rules: Always pick the Giants, never pick the Redskins or the Cowboys, and pick the home team if those two play each other. That being said, it doesn't explain picking KC and Arizona.
10(T). Heather (SundayNapper)- Well, at least you have company at the bottom. And at least we can't accuse you and Dave of sharing information. So Kudos to you for your integrity and in your honesty in team name.
Week 2 Picks
Texans @ Panthers: John and Holly for Houston, all others for Carolina. I like the gutsy pick, but do I smell collusion?
Cincy @ Cleveland: Holly for Cleveland, all others for Cincy. Holly gives away more points this week.
Falcons @ Jags: Holly for Atlanta, all others for the Jags. Wow.
Packers @ Giants: Tough game. Steph, Matt, Gram and Bill for NY, all others for GB.
Bills @ Stillers: All Pittsburgh.
SF @ StL: Holly SF, all others StL. I'm sensing a theme.
NO @ TB: Nancy for TB, all others for NO. This is the second week in a row that Nancy picked the Bucs. Not even Holly would pick them.
Colts @ Titans: All Colts.
Seattle @ Arizona: John for Arizona, all others Seattle. A gutsy pick, and I understand the logic, but it's still Arizona.
Vikings @ Detroit: Holly, Bill and Heather for Minny, all others for Detroit. What an ugly game, and I'm not even talking about the Vikings' uniforms.
Cowboys @ Dolphins: John, Bill and Heather for Miami, all others for Dallas.
Jets @ Ravens: Matt and Nancy for the Jets, all others for Baltimore. When I hear Kyle Boller could be starting, I pick the other team.
Chiefs @ Bears: Heather for KC, all others for Chicago. At least we know the Chiefs will "play to win the game".
Raiders @ Broncos: All for Denver.
SD @ NE: Matt, John, Nancy and Ryan for the Chargers, the rest for the Cheaters. I feel like karma has to be rooting for San Diego tonight. Good must triumph over evil.
Redskins at Eagles: Scott for Washington, all others for Philly. We'll see if Scott's ahead of the curve in not liking Philly this year.

Jeremy Shockey is stupid sometimes, but so are the refs. They shouldn't have taken away the first down.
Go Green Bay and Philly...could 1st place really be mine? Awesome recap Matt.
GB is your new NFC BFF.
So TB and Cleveland win. Shows how much I know (nothing).
What is this...did someone forget to tell the bad teams that they're bad this week. Did only Buffalo get the memo?
No collusion here, as Holly picks teams based on uniform colors! I just had a good feeling about Houston.
As far as the Browns game, jeezus who saw that coming??????????
So, is Cleveland that good, or is Cinci that bad? I'm guessing the latter. Explosion potential offense, but no defense. The Browns did not allow a sack the entire game - that's gotta be a record......
Oh yeah - one last thing. Don't like my screen name matt? Eat me.
The screen name is effective, if uninspired. Unlike my picks, which were ineffective and uninspired.
Well we will just have to agree to disagree on this. I feel that the name is VERY inspired. At least it's not some worn out retread like a certain bandwagon fan's name...........
You realize she's going to defend her name and her alliance now, but not on the forum. Just to me, probably while I'm trying to watch something on TV. Thanks.
No Problem!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I aim to please........
Um...why mess with a good name, especially when it led you to a 2nd championship. I went through a long process to pick a team, because my years of fence riding got old. I decided on the Colts as a result of their Syracuse connections, upstanding coach, positive attitude, and no one else was a fan of the team. At the time I picked them, they were a good team, but not one of the top 3 times. So no, I didn't pick the Colts because they were good.
Uh huh...........
Keep telling yourself that, kumquat. You may actually start to believe it after awhile......
